• Erica recently returned from a trip to Hawaii, where she accompanied music composer and conductor, Kentaro Sato for a special album dedication to honor IZ (Israel Kamakawiwo'ole), a well known musician in Hawaii for his rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", who died in 1997. She said she had a great time and really enjoyed the visit.

The Shirley Opera House, erected in 1907 at 503 Main Street, Atwood, Kansas was the creation of an influential area pioneer. Now owned by Jeff and Alice Hill, The Shirley Opera House is upstairs from their restaurant, "The Aberdeen Steakhouse."

Built when Atwood, Kansas was 25 years old and home to 800 citizens, the building represents a historically important period for the refinement of places for entertainment in newly developing communities during the late 1800's / early 1900's.

This is the back-drop for this upcoming benefit concert for the restoration of The Shirley Opera House listed on the Kansas State Historic Register August 26, 2006, which will be home to many local and touring artists.

EricaJames will be opening for Michael Martin Murphy who has had 6 gold records and numerous hit singles including, "Wildfire," "Cowboy Logic," "Carolina in the Pines," "What's Forever For," and "Long Line of Love." Come and join this fun filled day of music with EricaJames and America's #1 Cowboy Music Singer, Michael Martin Murphy. EricaJames will open from about 2:00pm - 3:00pm and Michael Martin Murphy to follow and play until about 5:00pm. Be sure to mark your calendars for Sunday, June 3rd, 2007.

As most of you know EricaJames is a father-daughter duo that has been touring for sometime together. James, Erica's father, has been fortunate enough to be able to travel and play music with Erica and share very special times that has been a dream come true for him as he continues on this journey with her. As an added benefit, his dreams were expanded as he and Erica travel to many venues with his youngest daughter and Erica's younger sister, 12 year old Taylor Olivia. She has been a great support for them during their concerts, but has recently reached a goal of her own that has taken her to the road as well. Riding horses now for about year with a goal for competing in Barrel Racing, she has now achieved that dream. With much dedication, discipline and training of not only herself but of her horse Dolly, she has now taken to the road for a much greater goal of running in the NFR (National Finals Rodeo) one day. She currently has many memberships in various Barrel Racing organizations such as, NBHA (National Barrel Racing Association), AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) and many others that will help jump-start her abilities in Barrel Racing.

When asked how it affected his life, James said, "Yes it is difficult at times trying to coordinate schedules, but what more could a father ask for. God gave us everything we have and expects us to do the best that we possibly can and make the most of every minute. I was blessed with 3 beautiful daughters and a loving wife of 22 years and have been given the duty of promoting two of my daughters on the road for the purpose of helping them to achieve their dreams and goals and be a guide in their daily lives. My wife, Tonda, has been incredibly loving and supportive and helps to promote their activities as well. My 19 year old daughter Alexis, who has also been supportive, is currently working and has a goal of becoming an RN. Music, horses and family has and continues to take up of all of my time, but it is time I would not trade for anything else. It was truly heaven sent."
